About The Crystal

On the waterside at London’s Royal Docks, The Crystal provides a striking contrast to the surrounding skyline with its iconic shape. Designed by award-winning architects Wilkinson Eyre and opened to the public in 2012, The Crystal’s architecture draws inspiration from the many sides of a crystal. The Crystal showcases state of the art technologies to generate its own energy, including rainwater harvesting, black water treatment and solar heating, making it one of the world’s most sustainable buildings.
