Musselburgh Racecourse, Scotland’s oldest active racing venue, was established in 1816 and has grown into one of the UK’s premier tracks. Originally known as Edinburgh Racecourse until 1996, it is located in the scenic Mill hill area of Musselburgh, East Lothian. The course hosts both flat and jump racing, including prestigious events like the William Hill Scottish Sprint Cup and the Royal Mile Handicap. Over the years, it has undergone significant modernization, blending historic charm with contemporary facilities. Today, it stands as the second-largest racecourse in Scotland and ranks 14th in the UK, celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere and top-tier racing calendar.

Musselburgh Racecourse is located only 6 miles to the east of Edinburgh city centre and serviced by excellent public transport links. All access routes are well signposted. Musselburgh Racecourse is to the eastern side of Musselburgh and less than 1 mile from the A1 and less than 2 miles from the A720 Edinburgh City By Pass.
