We interrupt the barbeques and sunbathing to bring you this important message about the upcoming Christmas season particularly if you’re responsible for finding Christmas party venues and organising your corporate Christmas party. You remember Christmas right? We celebrate once a year? Peace and goodwill to all men? Temperatures tend to be lower than they are now? Excellent.
We know it feels far away, but its prime time to start planning your Christmas events. So, to keep you ahead of the curve we’ve put together some of the emerging Christmas trends for 2018. It’ll be the best forecast you’ll read today. Well, apart from the weather of course.
The year we’re all still very much into hygge - pronounced ‘hue-gah’ - which is the Danish term for comfort, warmth or togetherness. So, creating little nooks for your guests to feel cosy is essential when planning your space. If you’re swatching your colour schemes think blues, greys, copper and brass alongside natural elements, like wood, wreaths and fir plants. Extra points if you forage your own foliage… but our Event Planners can always recommend a good, local florist if not.
This Christmas we’re focusing on provenance. Ethical eating has been a huge food trend in 2018 as the public have become more concerned about where their food comes from and more discerning about the quality of their meat, veg and all foods in-between! At Sodexo Prestige & Events, Our Food Philosophy sets us apart. When it comes to our food, how it’s produced is as important as how it looks and tastes. We value the provenance and nutritional value of our ingredients, sourcing locally wherever possible and creating bespoke menus in accordance with your Christmas party requirements.
Also making a comeback this Christmas are classic festive foods - stuffed turkey; Brussel sprouts; glazed carrots; all the good stuff. In 2018 we’ve see a greater appreciation for craft, and so more traditional dishes and preparatory methods are currently favoured, though not without a creative twist.
Social media savvy
There’s no out of office for content creators over this festive season.
The enjoyment of an event comes in its anticipation, in the fun of the event itself, and in the warm memories afterwards. Social media and digital content can help enhance this experience by giving your guests a sneak peek of what’s to come, the opportunity to interact with the event planner and other guests, and a collection of images and stories to look back on and anchor memories. Our venues are the perfect backdrop for your most Instagramable events, from the star-curtained marquee at Knebworth House to the stage at The Apex.
We are in the age of the internet; living in a time where information is entertainment. So, why not invite a thought-leader or expert to speak at your Christmas party? At Sodexo Prestige & Events we’re used to facilitating speakers, as well as offering other forms of entertainment: such as live DJs or a visit from Santa. Our venues have seen famous speakers for centuries - at The Athenaeum, for example, Charles Dickens himself once gave a reading!
Packages: your event all wrapped up
We’re feeling the pinch in 2018 with budgets cut abound, so this year, to save you from tears, look to Sodexo Prestige & Events. Our Christmas elves have a number of event packages on offer. All of our packages include food, drinks and entertainment; designed to be great value for money. Christmas venue selection
When you’re organising an event, there’s no better feeling than finding your dream Christmas party venue. Choosing a venue is a big decision and it’s important to find a venue that makes a statement. We understand you’re keen to find somewhere creative, with an interesting history or story to tell. This year, check out The Crystal for a stylish, contemporary take on an elegant Christmas do, or quickstep back in history to wartime Britain with the IWM London’s Blitz themed parties.
