What does Jardin Blanc 2019 look like? Better perhaps to ask how it tastes (delicious), feels (relaxing) and smells (of spring flowers, of course)!
A true feast for the senses, Jardin Blanc is the official hospitality at the beautiful RHS Chelsea Flower Show – a secret garden restaurant curated by Michelin starred chef, Raymond Blanc OBE. Nestled in an exclusive corner of the show, Jardin Blanc is over 1000 square meters of outstanding plants, stunning sculpture, Champagne, botanical cocktails, live music and un-paralleled menus, all designed by Raymond himself and inspired by springtime’s glorious produce.
Exploring Jardin Blanc in its most essential elements, we best describe the event’s particular and enigmatic character through the five senses:
What will I see ?
The entirety of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. A ticket to Jardin Blanc includes entry to the world’s most famous flower show as well as giving you access to Raymond’s privategarden.
Those who book on the Friday can also see live a cookery demonstration from Raymond, where tasting and Champagne are, of course, included in this both educational and entertaining package.
What will I feel ?
Taking place between Tuesday 21st – Saturday25th May 2019, expect beautiful weather in this garden paradise. Lounge in the sun on the terrace bar; under the shade of beautiful, bespoke parasols; or in the gentle breeze as you swing on the sculptural, hanging love seats.
The garden is interwoven with art and sculptures, many of which you are invited to appreciate via touch. Statues lie hidden in the wildflowers, with other art pieces making fun, bold statements as they take pride of place on the decking of the large bar and lounge area.
What will I taste ?
With Monsieur Blanc’s reputation for delighting diners at Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, you can expect Jardin Blanc to be positively delicious experience - using seasonal ingredients from local, artisanal suppliers, the quality and flavour of every dish is exemplary. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, canapes and dinner will be all served at Jardin Blanc, dependant on the package chosen.
Moving from food to drink; the cocktails (unlimited drinks included in ticket price) at Jardin Blanc are made using fresh, spring botanicals. You could say that the gin is fresh too. Distilled on site, Warner Edwards’ portable still is the first of its kind and produces beautiful, intensely warm and smooth craft gin. A gin tasting will be hosted in Jardin Blanc as part of Tuesday’s La Lily Regale package.
What can I hear?
Under the friendly chatter and cocktail shakers, you can hear live music with folk three-piece, Wandering Hands, playing gentle pop covers (and taking requests!) in the garden.
If you book Thursday’s package, La Tulip, you can enjoy a live set from our house DJ and saxophonist accompanied by an enchanting evening of gourmet canapés and tasting dishes.
What will I smell?
Jardin Blanc’s planting changes each year through the guidance of 25-time Chelsea Flower Show gold medal winner Andrew McIndoe and includes 3000 different varieties of plant. This not only creates a colourful and vibrant sight but a symphony of fragrance. Of course, notes of outdoor bars wood fired oven and tasty food should mix in nicely there too.
