Wedding trends 2021 and beyond……

By Theo Rogers -

Its fair to say that 2020 has not been the year we were all hoping it would be, particularly for those planning a wedding. With so many couples having to delay their nuptial celebrations until 2021 and beyond we look at what we can expect from wedding venues and what trends we see forming for post lockdown celebrations moving forward.

Flexibility with wedding dates

Traditionally weddings have taken place on a Saturday, sometimes a Friday, but now we are seeing enquiries for every day of the week and every season of the year. The benefit of this is that there is better availability at venues and often a cost saving as the weekdays can be a cheaper option for couples. Guests are becoming used to the idea of a wedding in the week too and happy to take time off to celebrate with friends and family.

Many venues are also being as flexible as possible allowing dates to be moved and changed without incurring amendment fees and helping couples to find the best alternatives for their wedding day.

This means that couples booking weddings, and the wedding venues themselves, can be more reactive to Government announcements and changes to social distancing policies and rules on large gatherings.

Party size

Whilst many are hanging out for when restrictions are lifted and we can celebrate a wedding with all the friends and family around us as planned, some are looking at downsizing and hosting a smaller ceremony with an intimate group allowing them to splash out a bit and treat their guests to something really special.

Appreciation

We have all been reminded of the value of friends and family over the course of this year. Being separated from those we love has left a lasting impression on us all and couples will want to show their appreciation of their guests on the day with some tokens of appreciation from thanks to little gifts and moments of the day that make people smile.

An experience

Lockdown has made us all cherish the experiences we love and we can’t wait to get back to trying new things and enjoying what the world has to offer, whether it is being in a new restaurant or sampling a new culture on holiday. Weddings are a great chance to host your guests in some incredible venues that they may not ever have been to or have the chance to experience.

At PV&E we have a host of really interesting wedding venues from the traditional to the quirkier choices that will give both the wedding couple and their guests an experience of a lifetime.
